The Design Process

Step 1.

COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION

Come visit us in our studio (or schedule a time to chat with us on the phone and we’ll talk through your big day, covering your wedding stationery needs, design preferences, printing techniques, and paper choices. This is also your chance to get your eyes on us and our work to see in person what we’re all about! Within a few days of our meeting, we’ll send you a detailed project proposal for the option (or options) you liked best.

Step 2.

WORDING + DEPOSIT

Yay! You want to work with us! For the next 6 – 9 weeks we’re basically going to be best friends. When you decide to move forward let us know what items from your project proposal you’d like to proceed with. We’ll draft a final estimate and an invoice for the 50% non-refundable deposit. We’ll also start to talk with you about the wording you’d like on your wedding invitation. Some couples know exactly what they’d like to say and send us exact wording, other couples send us a list of names and times and we send back a selection of wording from them to pick and choose from — we’re happy to help as much as you’d like us to!

Step 3.

ELECTRONIC PROOFING

This is where you really begin to see the invitation come to life! We’ll take your wording and design preferences and create an electronic version of your wedding invitation suite that we’ll e-mail to you. We want you to be 100% happy with the look and feel, so we include 5 electronic proofs with our invitation suite package, so we can go back and forth to get everything just right.

Step 4.

APPROVAL/PRODUCTION

When we email you your final proof, we’ll include a proof approval form, please double check all the highlighted checkpoints on your proof and then return the form to us (e-mail, or mail are fine!). Once we’ve received your approval we’ll move your order into production and will have your items ready for pick-up in 3-4 weeks. We know that you’ll be excited to get these out to your guests, so if we can finish them faster than that we certainly will!

Step 5.

AN INVITATION IS BORN

As soon as we finish your wedding invitations we’ll reach out to you so that you can come in and pick them up. Final payment will be due at this time, then all that’s left is to gather in your wedding party to help stamp and stuff your envelopes — remember that while wine and beer can make any party more fun, but should be kept FAR AWAY from your finished invitations! Pop the bubbly once the final envelope has been sealed and safely put away! 🙂
